The Holland Society’s first Gathering at Fraunces Tavern was a big success! Members, Friends, and members of the Society of Daughters of Holland Dames gathered at Fraunces Tavern for an evening of conversation, dinner, and conviviality. We were pleased to welcome guests from outside of the New York Metro area, including Members from Texas and Maryland.
The historic ambiance of Fraunces Tavern was the perfect space to gather and reflect upon our shared New Netherland ancestry. The Bissell Room, in which the dinner was held, features a large mural of New York Harbor in 1717. It was a true pleasure to return to the original site of New Amsterdam and remember New Netherland.
We hope to plan more such events soon!
